Tyne Tees Models take to the catwalk at wedding fair.
February 29, 2016
It’s been a while since we held a fashion show at one of our fairs, so you can understand how excited we were to be bringing it back at our Centre for Life fair yesterday. The catwalk itself looked fab, with lighting and the impressive heart arch provided by local all-rounders MFX Events, who were also giving out free candy floss and popcorn to our guests throughout the afternoon.
We were absolutely honoured to have the stunning Tyne Tees Models, Alisha Cowie, Vicky Turner and Charlie Lockwood on board to model some outstanding bridal wear by My Big Day Bridal. The girls absolutely shone on the catwalk. Young newcomer Alisha Cowie did a great job on the day, it was as if she had years of experience; nobody would have guessed she was new to the industry. She was incredibly poised and a real professional.
Charlie was seriously working the Gigi Hadid realness! Her look was very on trend and typically “model” like, she wouldn’t have looked out of place at London fashion week.
It was great to have Miss Newcastle herself, Vicky Turner on our catwalk, she walked with grace and knew how to pose. We could definitely see why she was crowned queen of the city!
Trish Clark of Beauty Moves, and Marissa Benett both did an excellent job with the girls’ hair and makeup, creating a fresh and natural look; the finished result was beautiful and the models were simply glowing!
Arco String Quartet provided music for the show, and our resident entertainer Pete Brown gave a commentary. Both he and our event organiser Lorette Rubin hopped onto the runway at the end of the show to pose for photographs with the girls.
The number of guests began to dwindle after the fashion show, which was a shame; next time we’re definitely going to have two shows to make sure that nobody misses out, and to keep up the energy throughout the afternoon.
Our next fashion show will be bigger, better, more organised and not to be missed! Pop along to our wedding fair at the Holiday Inn, Gosforth Park, Newcastle for a wonderfully entertaining day. 12 – 3pm, Sunday 20th March. More info to come, so keep checking back!
